Twisted body, twisted mind

A new challenge is up today @ Color Me Scrappy and below is my take on it. This time there's a wonderfully manly color palette to work with while using the word "twist" or "spin" in the title or journaling. I never worked with this kind of prompt before but this time it was easy peasy because I instantly remembered something my dad says sometimes (he's Spanish but includes bits of other languages here and there), and the phrase "twisted body, twisted mind"is really among those sentences! So the color palette just flew in my arms to make a layout about my dad. Which I of course gave him the next time I was visiting. That time both my dad and my mum got layouts from me and this was the first time that they were confronted with "modern" scrapbooking :) You have until December 27 to submit your take.

So, on to the layout - except for the overlay, this one was created out of scraps but doesn't count for my "50 layouts challenge" because it was created back in October. Also, I worked here for the first time with mistable thickers and used them in a double way: first I misted on one piece of cardstock and then put the thickers on a fresh piece of cardstock. So I have the misted title and the negative of it. I liked this so much, especially for a phrase that has the same word twice in it.

Materials: Cardstock Bazzill White // Pattern Paper Basic Grey Out of Print Tribune, Simple Stories Awesome Grey Wood/Dictionary // Overlay Hambly Uncharted antique white // Studio Calico Mistable Thickers Yearbook, Basic Grey Micro Mono Alphabet // Divine Twine // mt masking tape // Scrapbook Adhesives

  4. Loving the title work, with the misted letters and then the negative. Way to use your stuff in a creative way. I'm stealing that idea!! We've really enjoying having you on the Color Me Scrappy DT. Keep up the good work! You've inspired Pam and I to create 50 pages without buying more supplies... I'm not sure whether to thank you yet or not... LOL. I'm still on LO #1, so I guess you can ask me when I'm done with 50.
